Plan around a purpose, not just a posting schedule
A useful content calendar connects each post to a goal, an audience and a next action. Give your AI service the approved facts, the channels you use, your production capacity and the period you want to cover.
Use one brief across your channels
Consider a fictional bakery promoting a Saturday bread tasting. Its brief contains no address, price or opening time. Keeping that same brief across the examples makes it easier to see how the wording changes by channel.
Build a one-week content calendar for [BUSINESS].
Goal: [GOAL]
Audience: [AUDIENCE]
Channels: [CHANNELS]
Verified offer details: [FACTS]
Capacity: [NUMBER OF POSTS AND AVAILABLE ASSETS]
For each post, provide the channel, purpose, format, concept, caption,
call to action and asset needed. Adapt the wording to the channel.
Do not add unsupplied dates, prices, hours or addresses.
Mark missing production details as questions for our team.
Three illustrative adaptations
- Instagram: a close-up bread image with “Discover your next favorite loaf at our Saturday bread tasting.” The production task is to supply an actual product photograph.
- Facebook: a straightforward community announcement: “We’re hosting a bread tasting this Saturday. Join us and explore the flavors.” Confirm the event details before publishing.
- Short video: a sequence showing a loaf being sliced, a tasting portion and the event announcement. The brief calls for footage the bakery must create; it does not assume that footage already exists.
These are written examples, not measured performance results from a social campaign.
Add a production check
A calendar can look complete while depending on assets you do not have. Review the photography, recording time, approvals and scheduling work needed for every entry. Replace an ambitious video with a simpler format when your team cannot produce it in time.
Check before scheduling
- Confirm every promotional fact.
- Make sure each post has one clear purpose.
- Review repetition across the week.
- Check whether the call to action has a working destination.
- Approve the copy and asset together.
